My Story
My name is Rachel, and I’ve been a childminder for over 20 years. I live with my husband, Arthur, our two children - Maya and Max, and our animals - Wiley the dog and Chucho and Benny the cats.
I studied English and Psychology at Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colorado. Before becoming a childminder, I worked in various roles in journalism and later in Public Relations for a New York-based company. However, everything changed when my daughter Maya was born. I decided to become a childminder so I could be home with her and provide a fun, nurturing environment where she could grow alongside other children.
What started as a way to be with my own children quickly became a passion. I found childcare incredibly rewarding, watching children thrive and develop in a positive, supportive environment. As my children grew older, I continued my work as a childminder because I truly love seeing the joy and progress in the children I care for.
Maya is in her last year at Durham University studying Sociology and Anthropology. Max is studying Biology, Sociology and Geography at Farnborough Sixth Form and just received an offer to study Geography at Oxford University in 2026. I feel so grateful to have been here to see my own children thrive, and I am incredibly proud of them.
I look forward to caring for your child while nurturing their interests to help them grow and flourish.
